Credits and spending

Learn how to manage your workspace's credits as an Admin. Understand the difference between workspace and personal credits, check your balance and usage, buy credits with bulk discounts, turn on auto top-off, set per-member spending limits, and grant or transfer credits across your team.

Some actions in Model Match, like enriching a borrower in Borrower Insights, use credits. As an Admin, you manage the workspace's shared credit balance, keep it topped up automatically, and set guardrails on how much each member can spend.

Workspace credits vs. personal credits

There are two pools:

  • Workspace credits. Shared by the whole team and priced by your plan. Buying them is an Admin action.
  • Personal credits. Billed to an individual's own card and used only by them. Handy for members who want to keep working without touching workspace billing.

⭐ Members can always manage their own personal spending and limit. Only Admins manage the shared workspace balance and other members' limits.

Checking your balance and usage

The credits area shows your current workspace balance plus a usage breakdown, by category and by member, so you can see what's driving spend and over what period.

Buying credits

  1. Let's open the credits area (or the purchase dialog when a task needs more than you have).
  2. Choose how many credits to buy. The dialog shows the per-credit price, any bulk discount, and your total.
  3. Confirm with a saved card. Credits land on the workspace balance immediately.

Auto top-off

Turn on auto top-off so the workspace automatically buys more credits when the balance runs low. This keeps bulk jobs from stalling mid-run. You set the threshold and the amount to buy.

💡 Auto top-off is the easiest way to make sure a big enrichment never pauses for lack of credits.

Per-member spending limits

To keep spend predictable, set a limit on how much an individual member can use. Members can adjust their own limit, and Admins can set limits for anyone.

Granting and transferring credits

Admins can grant credits to the workspace and transfer credits between members. This is useful for moving budget to whoever needs it most.

FAQs

Do credits expire? No. They roll over and never expire.

Can a Member buy workspace credits? No. That's an Admin action. Members can buy personal credits on their own card.

What happens if we run out mid-task? The task pauses and holds its place. Top up (or rely on auto top-off) and it resumes where it stopped. Empty enrichment lookups are refunded.

How do I stop one person from spending too much? Set a per-member spending limit for them.

What's the difference between a limit and the balance? The balance is how many credits the workspace has. A limit is a per-person guardrail on how much of it they can use.
