How to create a List
A list is where you add, organize, and track your records like Real Estate Agents, Loan Officers, or Companies in Model Match
Lists are how you organize the people and companies you're engaging with about recruits, prospects, referral partners, or anyone you want to track. This guide walks you through creating your first list in just a few clicks. You can pick a ready-made template to get a head start, or start from a blank slate.
Creating a List
From the Lists page, click the New list button in the top-right corner.
Choosing a list type
There are two types of lists:
Companies
People
When you create a list, you'll pick one of two types. Each is built for a different kind of record, so choose the one that matches what you want to track.
People lists hold individuals:
- Loan officers you're recruiting or building relationships with
- Real-estate agents you're prospecting for referrals
Use a People list when you're tracking individual careers and relationships
Companies lists hold Branches, or Mortgage Companies:
Use a Companies list when you're targeting whole teams or branches.
👀 A quick rule of thumb: if you're tracking a person, use a People list. If you're tracking a business or a whole team, use a Companies list.
What shows up on each
Both list types let you set statuses, add tags, leave notes, assign tasks and meetings. The difference is in the details each record shows:
- People show that person's production (volume and units), their company or branch, and their relationships.
- Companies show overall company production - or branch-level production, plus a Team tab with the loan officers who work there.
✋ You can't mix types within a single list, but you can create as many lists as you need, one for recruiting loan officers, another for agent partnerships, another for branch targets, and so on. You're unable to switch the list type once created.
Pick a template
A window titled Start a new list opens with template options down the left side:
Recruiting: templates for recruiting loan officers, branches, or teams
Prospecting: templates for building referral partners and agent relationships
Start from scratch: a blank People or Companies list
My templates: any templates that you or your team has saved before
Click a category, then click the template card that fits what you're tracking. Each template comes with statuses, tags, and fields already set up, and you can change all of it later.
👀 Not sure which to pick? Choose "Start from scratch." You can always add statuses, tags, and fields as you go.
Name your list
In the List name field, type a name you'll recognize, for example, Top Originators – Q2.
1. Click "Create list"
Click the Create list button in the bottom-right corner. Your new list is ready to use right away.
Add people or companies
Open your list and start adding records. From there you can track statuses, leave notes, set tasks, and keep everything in one place.
Add from Market Insights
Most records come straight from Market Insights, where you've already searched and found the loan officers, agents, or companies you want.
- One by one: on any profile or search result, click Add to CRM and choose your list.
- In bulk: select multiple records from your search results, then add the whole selection to your list at once.
This is the fastest way to build a list, since everything you're tracking already lives in Market Insights.
Import from a spreadsheet
If you already have a list of contacts in a spreadsheet, you can import them directly into your list instead of adding them one at a time.
