Viewing the loans a competitor captured in Borrower Retention
Open any capturing loan officer on a Borrower Retention tab to see every refinance and second lien they took from a loan officer's or company's book.
Borrower Retention tells you who is winning a book's borrowers. Now you can open any of those names and see the actual loans behind the count — borrower, original loan, new loan and how long it took.

What the captured loans view shows
The captured loans view is a side panel in Borrower Retention that lists every loan one competing loan officer took from a loan officer's or company's past borrowers in the selected period, newest first. It opens from any capturing loan officer's name on a Borrower Retention tab.
The top of the panel shows:
- Name, company and NMLS ID: who captured the loans.
- Period: the same period the tab is set to.
- Loans captured: how many loans that loan officer took from the book.
- Volume: the total amount of those loans.
- Refinances and Second liens: the split between the two kinds of loss.
- View Volume Report: opens the capturing loan officer's own profile.
The tables on the tab tell you who is winning. The captured loans view tells you exactly which borrowers they won — the detail you need for a recruiting conversation or a retention plan.
Opening captured loans from a loan officer's Borrower Retention tab
Let's open the loans a competitor took from a loan officer's book.
- Open a loan officer's profile and select the Borrower Retention tab.
- Under Originators who captured these loans, click a loan officer's name.
- To start from a single lost loan instead, scroll to The loans that went elsewhere and click the name in the Went to column.
The panel opens on the right with every loan that loan officer captured from this book in the tab's period. Change the period on the tab first if you want a longer or shorter look back.
💡 The captured loans view isn't limited to the loans shown in The loans that went elsewhere table — it reads every loan that loan officer captured in the period, so a big book's full history is all there.
Opening captured loans from a company's Borrower Retention tab
Company profiles work the same way, across every loan officer at the company.
- Open a company's profile and select the Borrower Retention tab.
- Choose Last 12 months or All time.
- Under Originators who captured these loans, click a loan officer's name.
The panel lists every loan that loan officer took from the company's borrowers in that window — a quick way to see which competitor is pulling the most business from a company you're recruiting from or protecting.
Viewing a captured loan
Each row in the captured loans view lines up the lost loan with the one that replaced it:
- When: the date of the competitor's loan.
- Property / Borrower: the address and borrower name, with badges such as "Cash-out", the rate change, "Owner changed" or "Borrower name differs".
- Your loan: the original loan's amount, type, date and rate.
- Their loan: the competitor's loan.
- After: how long after the original closing the borrower moved.
Click an address to open the property's timeline on top of the panel. Rows load 100 at a time; select Show more at the bottom to load the rest, and the footer shows how many of the total you're seeing.
Frequently asked questions
Why don't I see every captured loan in The loans that went elsewhere table? That table shows the most recent losses across all competitors. The captured loans view reads every loan for one competitor, so open it from Originators who captured these loans to see that loan officer's full count.
Can I open captured loans from a company profile? Yes — on a company's Borrower Retention tab, click any name under Originators who captured these loans. The panel covers the company's whole book for Last 12 months or All time.
Why does the panel say "No loans found"? No loans from this book went to that loan officer in the selected period. Widen the period on the tab and open the name again.
Why does the panel say the book is too large to read in time? Very large books can take too long to read across a long period. Choose a shorter date range on the tab and open the name again — your data is safe, and nothing about the report changes.
Can I see the competitor's full production? Yes — select View Volume Report at the top of the panel to open that loan officer's profile.
